File bar sizes are based on the outside width of the entire cabinet. The actual bar will be shorter to fit your drawer.

NOTE: "OLD STYLE" vs "NEW STYLE". Allsteel® manufactures two models of lateral cabinets. The oldest style is called the "Persona" model. It uses a heavier gauge of steel then the new model called "Essentials", which was introduced on 10/28/2001. The shape of the punched hole or "slot" in the drawer wall will indicate if your model is "Old Style" Persona or "New Style" Essentials. The identification chart below illustrates & compares the shape of each slot.
